MEEPLE

Hi! This profile website is currently undergoing an update at the moment. Some of the info maybe outdated! I am a software engineer, experienced barista, and board game enthusiast. You can also check out what I have been upto here, and my blogs. My contact info can be found here.

Software Developer | Tech Lover

As of 2019, I have graduated and earned BSCompE with software enginnering options at UVic. My passion for programming and techs began with programming a graphing calculator in High School - it didn't take long from making it display simple words to create mini-story telling games to have laugh with friends. Then, I moved onto Pascal to learn the basics of programming. From academic studies and personal projects, I am most comfortable with Java, and Python, but also have experience using other languages such as C, R, Matlab, and so on.

I hold a special love for *Nix operating systems. While I am not much of a ricer, I do love tinkering my set-up. Currently, I am using X1 Carbon Gen 5 - Arch Linux - i3 as my main daily driver which has served me faithfully over the many years. As a experiment laptop, T430 is taking a beating from me continusouly tinkering various settings. I would love to get much more deep into GNU/Linux and really, NIX in general. My future plan involves trying to libreboot a hardware, and custom build a kernel from scratch.

Lately, I have just finished a raspberry pi build. It was very enjoyable. I look forward to do more projects with it.

You can find what I have been working on by following here.

Experienced Barista

espresso bar

During my studies, I have Worked at a cafe for 5 years - and it was a great life experience. Working as a barista was a huge part of my life that shaped me into who I am today. Somedays, I miss working behind the espresso bar.

What I miss the most is the quite atmoshphere of evening inside the cafe. I have met many great people - both co-workers and customers whom I have learned a lot from.

Avid Board Gamer

Dices

The ocean of bits and bytes is vast and wide - the board games are like remote, tropical islands where I can take a break from long day of surfing through codes. My collection has not grown much, and I could not play as much as I used to have since I started my studies. However, I am still very much attached to them, and try to spare weekend to sit down, and enjoy a quite game. Rolling dices. Shuffling cards. Having a good time with friends.

These are all the things that I enjoy aside from coding.
